Football Fever

Just a day at the local field throwing the pigskin around.

He was watching his older cousin play some football and I was thinking about how soon it would be before he would be out there himself.

He clearly loves all sports and I wonder which one will take root and become his favorite.
Right now they all seem to be the same.  As long as he can throw, kick or hit a ball he is happy.

And he's already got a good arm.

But with some football genes in the family, who knows?

I personally hold on to some hope that he'll like to sing and dance like me, but who says you can't do both??

As long as he's happy, that's all I care about.

PS- me at almost 24 weeks.  It's a relief to actually look pregnant at this point.  And to feel so good!  Fall is going to be fun, I can already tell.

23 Weeks

We had to get another ultrasound last week because of a white spot the tech noticed at the last ultrasound.  Turns out it was just some calcium build up and there's nothing to worry about, and we got a 4-D peak at our little boy!  These 4-D's are so amazing, how much detail you can see when you look at them.

Apparently he is going to be a flexible little monkey, and based on the intensity of his kicks, a busy little guy too.  Not unlike his big brother.

Who is learning so much at school, and really loving it this year.  We even had a HUGE breakthrough this weekend- he tee teed in the potty!!  I've never seen someone so proud in my life as Chase and I, plus how proud he was to have accomplished such a big feat.

Speaking of things this guy is up too, collecting acorns!  He's obsessed with his "acones" and loves to show them to everyone.  Some other words we have picked up... "chockey mookey", and sadly, "key" has become "mickey mouse"  Oh how far we've traveled since June.

As far as pregnancy goes, I am feeling good, with only some sciatic nerve discomfort, and some weird heart palpitations, which seem to be hormonal, but other than that, feeling good, eating a lot (unfortunately) and still able to sleep at night and get some exercise.  We'll see how many more weeks all this lasts, but so far so good!

Raughley's First Football Game!

Someone here has been to tailgates before,

But only this year has learned to say "roll tide!" and really participate in the Saturday tradition in our family.

This past weekend he got to go to his first game!  We spent some time in Uncle Pat Pat's room prepping for the day, and he couldn't wait to get inside that stadium!

He spent the first 30 minutes in awe of everything, with this face on the whole time.

He's mesmerized by it all.  (and here I am, large and in charge at 22 1/2 weeks)

Big Al was a huge highlight, but once he got his turn for a pic, he backed off.  Still scared of characters I guess.

But he loved the football players.  Still refusing to wear his own jersey that Chase got him, I hoped seeing the team would warm him up to the idea for next weekend.  We'll see.

Something up high really had his attention.

The game's the other way, buddy!

Cute father son moment

Yelling "roll tide" at Trent Richardson

Who gave him a little smile back!

One of the three MB boys on the team, Tyler Love.

Mom sat with us too, for all of the one 1quarter we stayed.  Still, it was really nice to drive home in no traffic and get in bed by 8:30.

Jeris' Shower

I helped host a baby shower for Jeris, my friend who is having twins.  I don't have many pics bc it was a big shower and my job was to unwrap presents in the back, but I did snap one of the flowers my mom and I arranged.

And the alternative "guest book" we did where you made guesses as to the future of the two boys.  Part of the hostess gift was letters for her nursery.  She racked up too!  So much great stuff to get them started.  I can't wait to meet them.  December can't come soon enough!

Perdido and Lee!

We spent labor day weekend at the beach, in spite of looming weather reports regarding TD Lee.  We were stuck inside a lot due to rain and wind, but actually had a great time and got some beach time in as well!

Raughley worked hard on his Roll Tide skills as we watched the game Saturday

We cooked some fabulous fresh fish from the market- well, let me correct myself.  Chase and William cooked, I ate.  They stuffed a whole snapper with crab meat and butter.  It was delish.

One of the chefs, in his oh so stylish hawaiian shirt.

View from the window of the wind.  The waves were pretty enormous.

When it was only windy, not raining, we would take walks, and Raughley would dig in crab holes looking for crabs.

Check out what the wind is doing to his hair!

We spent a lot of time inside though, but R seemed to be pretending to sunbath in his lobster chair.

Sunday was great, windy, cool, and we even had some sunshine!

Ra found this log and dragged it over to our spot.  He was intent on digging more holes than the world record book, and really wanted to swim in the ocean, in spite of the 12 footers.  We let him get his feet in the surf, but that was about as far as we could handle.  Hopefully next time we'll have better weather, but thank goodness Lee wasn't as bad as it could have been!
