False Alarm

Well, after two separate nights in L and D, we're a no go with William Patrick.  The first nurse said I was in early labor and things might progress over the next couple of days, while last night they didn't seem to think this was the case.  SOOOO we're back to the waiting game.  Who knows which nurse is correct, but Im determined not to worry about it and just enjoy my new year and get ready to meet my little guy in 2012!

Christmas Blessings

As I sit here and type, Im probably in the early stages of labor.  Hooray!  Bring on the NYE baby!  So in anticipation of this event, I need to get my Cmas pics on the blog ASAP.  (this urge would also probably be part of the crazy nesting I have done today, which includes packing up all Christmas decorations, vacuuming the house, laundry, etc.)  Needless to say Im exhausted.

Santa was good to us this Christmas.  Ra Ra desperately wanted a rocket and a bicycle, (and also a reindeer and a sleigh, but thank goodness he wasn't upset when those didn't appear under the tree.)

But before he came to our house, he came to B's for Dad's birthday party!  We had such a great time at all our family parties this year that I didn't take any pictures- I really enjoyed myself and took it all in.

But Christmas morning had to be documented.

Of course the favorite toys were the smallest things.  The rocket, the helicopter and small red airplane were big hits.

Santa even brought Bryant some toys as well.

Can we say spoiled?

Ra Ra loved his barn at May May and "Pots"  (pop, we've encountered a slight speech impediment lately... words that end in P now end in "T"... including Pirate Ship, which we have now had to switch to pirate "boat" to avoid cussing at age 2.)

Again, its the small things- like chocolate trucks for lunch.

Here's the pirate boat tent at Giddy and Bo's, which became another fav, along with the plastic bugs.

Uncle Carl gave R a tent as well, and he loved peeking out of the window.

And looking at us through his magnifying glass... what a nut.

Someone had such a busy fun Christmas that he was utterly exhausted by the end of the day.

And this happened.

But he bounced back the next day, and it has been non stop play time ever since.
We love you big boy, and look forward to 2012  with you and your new baby brother (if he ever gets here)

Red Radio Flyer and 36 Week Update

Mimi and Poppy came over last night and brought Raughley his Christmas present... a red radio flyer wagon!

R loved getting to help put it together, and then decided to fill it with all his favorite toys.

He pulled it around for a bit,

Then got in himself!
What a sweet gift, thank you Mimi and Poppy!  This wagon will be loved for years, and by both boys.

Check out that face, and then compare it to the one below...

They almost look the same!!!  Haha, these are pics from our ultra sound at the 36 week appointment today. We've been so lucky to get so many ultra sounds, and the tech took some 4d pics for us again!  Of course his face is smooshed in these pics, so I don't think this is a great representation of what he will look like, but  I feel like it will be pretty close!  I think he looks like Chase, but with big cheeks.  WP is measuring 5 lbs 14 oz, which is right on average, and everything looks good with him right now!  I was still measuring 1 cm, so no change there, which pretty much gives us the thumbs up that we won't be going to the hospital before Christmas, which is a big relief.  (I'd also lost 2 pounds... yay).  The Doc thinks this would be a 2012 baby, so I could be pregnant for another couple of weeks.  We're just glad he's healthy and going to stay put for at least another 5 days!

Here's the 3-D pic.  Look at those lips!  He's pouting already.  We can't wait to meet you little William Patrick Wise!

Gingerbread House

Friday Raughley and I ended up with much free time on our hands, so we thought we'd make a gingerbread house.  Im not good with the actual gingerbread, so we found a bird house to decorate instead.

Most of the icing went on the house, and the other half went into Raughley.

Such a good helper!  He did get really into decorating the house with candy, and that love for lining things up really paid off as he lined up red hots all along the sides of the house.

Proud artist!

I love the frosting on his face.

My Love Will Find You

I bought Raughley a book for Christmas by this author that I really love.  Not knowing what the book was about, I was really touched when it came and I read it to myself.  I wanted to share parts of it on the blog. These sections are from "Wherever You Are, My Love Will Find You" by Nancy Tillman
"I wanted you more than you will ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go.
So climb any mountain...climb up to the sky! My love will find you, my love can fly!"

"It never gets lost, never fades, never ends...if you're working or playing or sitting with friends."

"And if someday you're lonely, or someday you're sad, or you strike out at baseball, or think you've been bad... just lift up your face, feel the wind in your hair. That's me, my sweet baby, my love is right there."

"My love is so high, so wide and so deep, it's always right there, even when you're asleep. So hold your head high and don't be afraid, so march to the front of your own parade."

"You are my angel, my darling, my star...and my love will find you, wherever you are."

December So Far

Has been fun, exciting, and busy.

From meeting Santa Claus, which you saw from the previous post, was slightly disastrous, to watching trains at the McWane Center, we've been filling our days up, enjoying Mr. R man really get into his third Christmas.

Im not sure why Santa wanted me to sit in his lap, I thought I would crush him.

But then he wanted Chase to as well.  He thought it would make R more comfortable... Clearly not a great idea.

But since then Raughley really believes he sat in Santa's lap, told him he wanted a bicycle and sleigh for Christmas, and had a wonderful time doing it.  I can't wait to show him these pics one day!

Around here we've been decorating, cooking, wrapping, and counting down the days till the 25th.

The stockings are hung, including one for WP juuuuuuust in case.

Raughley loves the choo choo around the tree, and also loves to steal ornaments off the branches, which I find all over the house later on.  He thinks they are toys... and in a way they are, so I don't get upset.  I love his wonderment over the whole season, from the star on top of the tree, to the wise men and the camels, and even how he asks me every day if he can go down the chimney.  (Im thinking he thinks HE is Santa Clause).

But on top of all this Christmas fun, we've been getting ready for baby boy #2.  Washing clothes, bottles, blankets, burp cloths...

Packing hospital bags, installing car seats, pre registering at the hospital.  All along I thought I'd have a January baby, and all this Christmas and baby stuff wouldn't overlap.. now Im not so sure, but i've had it all done for days now anyway.

So the nursery is ready, and now we wait- hopefully another couple of weeks.
Merry Merry!

Random Pics from December

Mom and I took R to the McWane Center to see the train exhibit.  He had the most fun riding Santa's sleigh.  In fact we had to drag him screaming away from it when it became clear it was other children's turns to go.

Mr. has been so full of personality lately, its really fun seeing him turn into such a funny preschooler.
And sleeping in his big boy room is really working. He loves it!  Glad one transition has gone easily.  (unlike the paci experience) now if only potty training would go so well.

My lunch date on Friday.

More McWane

He even got to see some horses at BlackJack farms.  For such an animal lover, this was a highlight for R.  In fact, he is asking for an elephant for Christmas now.  I hope he doesn't mean a real one!  Sorry to disappoint buddy, but Im not cleaning up after that!

In William Patrick news, I am 34 1/2 weeks, and hoping to get another 3 in before he gets here.  I go to the Dr. on Wednesday, so stay tuned for more info!
