Waiting for the Circus Train

My mom and I braved 40 degree weather the other day for two hours waiting on the circus train to pull into town.  We parked by the ASHOF and hung out with Bear and Shug, chatted with news casters and camera men, drank coffee and generally froze while we waited on eight slow elephants.  

We'd talk about heading home and then someone of some importance would tell us, "20 more minutes and they'll be here."

And 20 minutes would come and go, and no sign of any trunks or tails.  

Finally we saw some Ringling trailers go by, and that was too much excitement to handle.  So we headed home, only to hear that they made their grand appearance not 1 hour after we left. If only we'd waited 3 hours instead of 2!

However we enjoyed being together, seeing the SEC building, and next year will read the time that AL.com tells us the parade is going to happen, and come 2 hours late.

My family went to Jim Davenports last week for my little brother's 26th birthday dinner.  (He's not happy about being on the 30 side of 25).  But we had a great dinner, and I always love a little JD's pizza and a draft beer.  

Jim Dav's is very red, which accounts for the hue in these pictures, but I didn't want to edit it out, because it's how the place really feels when you're in there.  

The lens I was using is really for a different camera, which is why it looks like this, but I didn't want to crop this one or I would be all nose.  My nose is not that big (I don't think) it's just distorted by the extreme wide angle.  

So happy birthday Uncle Willy, may 26 bring you much to be happy about!

Playdates

Liam had some friends over the other morning for an impromptu get together.  We had a ball watching the little buddies play together, and Raughley had more fun than anyone taking turns riding with each baby in the cozy coupe!
