14

This curious, smiley fellow is 14 months old.  I cannot believe it. Something in my head keeps thinking he's 11 months or so.  Maybe it's because he's just now walking and growing teeth, things Raughley did at 11 and 12 months.

He laughs all the time.  He's been sick the past 3 weeks, and was so fussy and sad all the time that I forgot how sweet and happy he normally is.  This week has reminded me of his true personality and what a nut he's going to be.

He officially walked about 4 weeks ago, mid February.  Let's say Valentine's day just for good measure.  He can climb all 15 stairs at our house as well.  Loves to play peek a boo, and how big is Liam, and he loves to be tickled and chased.  His hair looks strawberry is some lights, blonde in others and brown when its wet.

He says Dada, Mama, Nana, and some other combinations of noises and sounds that I'm pretty sure indicate Bryant and Raughley.  But if you ask him "where's mama?" he will look at me and say "mama."  Same for Chase and Raughley.  He can even identify cartoon characters like Mickey and Minnie.  What is it about Mickey Mouse that children just immediately fall in love with him- myself included?!

Liam, you are such a joy to be around, and I love it when you are Raughley play together, having so much fun that soon I don't even have to be involved- I can just watch the two of you become best buds.  What a gift!

Easter Eggs

First of all, Liam is SOOO Big!  More on him at 14 months to come in the next post.
We tried the other day to dye eggs, and I didn't think about the fact that brown eggs don't dye, so we made them pirates instead, from this really cute kit I got at Target.  Super easy and fun!

So Sunday, still feverish, we dyed the real things- white eggs.  Daddy got to help this time.

Someone was super excited.  He's been wanting to dye eggs for a while now.  That's the thing about three year olds, if you tell them something is happening soon, (Like, Easter is in 3 weeks) they think its tomorrow- like every day.  "Is Easter tomorrow? Is my birthday in 3 days? Oh boy that's like tomorrow!!!"

He'll figure it out eventually.

He's in awe of simple science experiments.  Like writing your name in white crayon.  He couldn't see it until we dyed the egg! Amazing!

while the eggs got brighter by staying in the dye longer (he was so patient!) Daddy and him hid plastic eggs and practiced for Sunday.  Once these babies were ready it was all he could do to not pick one up... never the less, he couldn't resist, and one ended up in smithereens on the floor... oh well!

Party Filled Saturday

This weekend was supposed to be filled with exciting activities, starting with Sim's birthday party at the Southern Museum of flight.

I'd never been there, so I was actually excited to go.

Raughley had a great time, and was glad to be out of the house after a week and a half of being sick.

We took a tour, watched paper helicopters fly, and ate cake.

On the way home, he fell asleep in the car and spiked a fever, so it was back inside for two more days to fully recover.  Not excited about that.

But I was still able to go to my next event, Jenny's baby shower!

She racked up on some great things, I loved all the book choices!

Caroline's house looked beautiful, and it was fun to see old friends and meet some of Jenny's friends from home.

Can't wait to meet little Quinn in June!

Kiwi Crate

Once a month we get a fun, lime green package in the mail... Kiwi Crate!  This month, after battling ear infection after fever after ear infection, we needed some indoor distractions.

The kit comes with everything you need.  glue dots, scissors, crayons, tape, etc.

This month we made a periscope and some disguises.

Both were totally cool, fun and easy to make.  Now lets just pray for 3 consecutive fever free days so we can actually do something!
