Icy- Cold

And then someone suggested we go get ice cream... and this guy has a sweet tooth!

He was ready to go, waiting on everyone else at the door.  

He loves "icy cold" as he calls ice cream- the rest of the pics speak for themselves.  

Beach Time!

Finally, on our second to last day, the beach cleared off and we got to play!  The water was still somewhat warm, and was very calm, so R waded in the shallows with his mom and dad and looked for shells.

Fall at the Beach

We were lucky enough to get to go to Boca last week for 6 whole days.  The weather was beautiful, pretty much the same as Bham, but with that great beach breeze that makes everything so nice.  

The beach and our family are having issues though, first TD Lee hits when we go to Perdido, then Red Tide strikes while we are in Boca.  The side effects (wheezing, sneezing, runny nose) were only felt on the beach, so we still got to go on plenty of golf cart rides and enjoy being outside, but the masses of dead fish on the beach kept us from digging sand castles and playing in the ocean for most of the trip.  

Luckily, Giddy pulled through and raked them up just in time for R to have two days of glorious sand digging- which is his favorite thing to do on the beach.  

But there was plenty else to do- especially on Saturday.  We have two teams to pull through now- since we have met the Sweeney's down here at the beach and love their family so much, it's hard not to want them to win!  

Someone had plenty of Roll Tides to say during the game.  He's gotten to where he understands that Alabama wears red, and when he sees a football team without red on, he says, "Dat's not Roll Tide!"  How smart.

Mem (Or Bo as R has named her) made some yummy tailgate food and R went through his usual "hmmm, let seee" process of deciding which cookie to eat.  

Its a hard decision...

"Dis one!"

And after a long game of rooting on the two teams, he finally settled for some stroller time with the doggies, then it was off to bed to rest up for another fun day at the beach. 

Singing Machine

Raughley is a singing machine.  He sings all day long, and some of his favorites are "shake your bean bag" (from story time), Falalalalala (Christmas song) Ho,  Ho, Ho (another Christmas song), I love you (barney) and the ABC's. I love hearing him sing, especially when he sings himself to sleep at night.  What a sweet sound!

On another note, had my 27 week check up today, and the baby looks good, measuring right on track, and I go back in 3 weeks!  At that point I will start going every two weeks, which means we're on the home stretch!  Although I am not looking forward to other third trimester symptoms, I am really ready to meet this baby.  

PS, we've picked a name for him as well... William Patrick Wise!

Two buddies

Punkies and A-Cones

Somebody is loving fall.  The Acorns are falling, and everyday he gets to fill his basket with more and more.

And we got to pick out our pumpkins at Murphrees last week, which was a big hit.  

Crazy how much he can change in a year!

This year he wanted to take every punkie home with him.  

We settled on two baby white punkies, 

And an orange punkie for the three of us.  A Rara punkie, a mama punkie and a gaga punkie.  

Animal Adventures

We tried for two weeks to get to the zoo, and finally made it in one piece.  

The first time we tried, R fell asleep in the car on the way, slept through the whole trip, and woke up once we got home to say "whey ah da monkeys?"  It was so sad.  So this Sunday, we timed our trip better around nap time and finally made it to see the animals.

And he insisted on wearing his "punky" outfit, as one of his obsessions lately is punkys.  (pumpkins)

Lots of words he's been using lately have "y" on the end.  Such as punky, icy cold (ice cream) Tank-y and no tank-y (thank you and no thank you), and mooky/chocky mooky (milk, chocolate milk)

It's really been fun to play the role of interpreter, trying to figure out what he is saying as he talks, ALL DAY LONG!  The funniest was when he was in the back seat of the car, and must have pooted or burped, because all the sudden I heard this little giggle, followed by "scuse me mama".  

We got to see the beloved monkeys, but this guy didn't like us looking at him and turned his backside to us immediately.

The lions were the hit.  As you might have heard, we have five baby lions at the zoo this year, and they are so cute!

I really wanted to take R to the Lion King, but its only in 3-d and I know he wont keep those glasses on for long.

We happened to be there around feeding time, 11:30 in case you are interested, and it was so cool to see them all feed.
