Birthday Beach Trip

It's always fun to introduce new friends to Boca.

So when we headed down last week for a golf/birthday trip for Chase, we knew we'd have fun showing our friends around.

We went to restaurants we hadn't been to in a while,

swam a little more, played a little harder, and spent time on the beach.

Somebody worked on his walking skills, and learned to share. I'll let the rest of the pictures speak for themselves, except to say 5 kids at the beach is one crazy, albeit fun, ride!

i-lately

Someone turned 14 months, and is walking! I can't put my finger on the exact date, because he's been taking one step for around 6 weeks, but about March 5 he took off, starting with 5 or 6 steps, and now he's walking up to 30 at a time.

This guy is approaching 4.  I can't believe it.  We bought some reader books at the library book sale and he slept with them for about a week.  He can identify all his letters, write about 10 of them, and give you the sounds for almost all.  The teacher in me is very proud.

Bryant is as good a sport as always, letting the kids climb on him, pull his ears and ride him like a donkey.  Hey, he gets free food out of it, so it's a good exchange in his eyes.

Our weekends have been filled with indoor activities, since we've been covered up with wet cold weather.  Bass Pro is a favorite among the guys.

And best of all, our new little cousin Paylor is here!  I can't wait to go to Jackson next weekend to finally get my hands on this cute thing!  Another girl for our family!!!

We bought a game table this week at the Cabin on Cedar Lane in Pell City.  It's closing, so we got a great deal and headed to lunch with Pop to pick it up.  It was lighter than I thought so I could set it up by myself.  After rearranging the furniture that is.  But the sweat was worth it, because Raughley LOVES it.  We've played about 30 games of memory on it, and he filled the secret compartment with his favorites.

Last but not least, Raughley accomplished the fireman's pole at the Tot Lot.  It took a lot of bravery on his part, but he did it once and never looked back.  Four creeps up on us every day in little steps like this, and before I know it my baby has turned into a preschooler.

House Update

It's kind of hard to tell, but I took some panorama's of the rooms in the framed house.  They look really distorted but it gives an idea.  This is the library,

Brick and mortar samples to choose from.  Same brick, different mortar.  Its amazing how different it makes the brick look.

Sink for the basement/man cave area.

Big window in the foyer.  So excited about this. It's really coming along! We've picked out plumbing fixtures, tile, and appliances so far, along with making some architectural decisions about molding and ceiling details.  More to come!
