One Month Old

Dear Liam,
I cannot believe you are already one month old.

You have the sweetest personality, as I sit here and type this you are snuggled in your basket sound asleep, sucking away on your paci.  You are going to be a paci boy just like your big brother.

You sleep well at night, waking up most nights to eat at 11pm, 4 am, and then again around 7:30.  Makes for a pretty easy night for mom and dad, except for those few nights when you've woken up with tummy pains.

Your Daddy, big brother and I love you so much already, and wonder what life was like before you arrived!
We love how you suck on your fingers, like to kick your little legs, and love to sleep face down on someone's chest.  You snore a bit, and make scary noises when you eat (and you eat like a little piglet, slurping and chomping down on your bottle like it is your last meal).  You're big brother loves to look at your "little bitty piggies" and your "little bitty nose", and we all love to hold your little bitty hands.

Before you know it you will be crawling, then walking, then wrestling with Raughley, so we will try to enjoy these baby moments while we can.  It goes by quickly!

Story time

We love story time with miss nay nay. So once liam got adjusted to the world for a few weeks we couldn't wait any longer, and had to get back to our Tuesday ritual. It's nice to be back in the swing of things.

A Big Helper

Before I start this post I have to tell a funny Raughley story:
My brother and sister in laws wedding is in About Town this month, and I was showing Raughley the spread in the magazine.  He said, "Mommy, Francis Ellie and Willy are not Naykie"... whatever made him look at pictures of them in a tux and wedding gown and assume that he needed to tell me they were not naked!!!  Funny how a two year old mind works.
Raughley has naturally been going through a huge transition with the birth of his baby brother.  He has handled it remarkably well, with only a few attention seeking meltdowns, which is certainly to be expected.  He has needed a little more TLC from time to time, just to give him the security that of course we still love him as much as we used to and no, mommy is not going back to the "Doctor" any time soon.

He has been a huge help with Liam as well.  I can send him on errands throughout the house, such as, bring mommy a diaper, or grab that paci from in my bag.  Such small blessings are welcome when one's hands are full with a crying child trying to eat his bottle, or when I'm driving in the car and have a panic attack that the baby is still breathing or not.  I simply can ask my trustee assistant if Liam is okay, and he responds, "yes mommy, baby brother is sleeping" or some calming answer of the sort.

So thank you Ra Ra for being such a wonderful big brother already!

Liam's First Boca Trip

Liam is hardly even pictured in this post, but the trip really was a big first for him, so the title is appropriate, I think.  The pediatrician gave us the okay to take Liam to the beach, so to the beach we went!

Guess who got to come along?  Both May May and Pop came, and Giddy and Bo were already there, so Chase and I had lots of helping hands, which was WONDERFUL!

The weather was nice, so we were able to dig some holes,

Bury some body parts,

And make some messes!

Then jumping in those holes was a necessity.

So. Much. Fun.

It was so nice to soak up some vitamin D in the middle of January.

Even Liam got his fill of the sun.
