Wrapping up Maine

So outside of our little piece of harbor was a tiny island we called "seal island".

Because these guys hung out on it whenever the tide was low.

Here is the island, we kayaked out to it once or twice and I finally got the nerve to take my camera.  Im so glad I did because out of about 400 shots, I got ONE good one.  See below.

I think it was worth it. These guys were so cool, but a little freaky as they would follow you out of curiosity, popping their little heads up at random every 30 seconds or so, each time just a little bit closer to your boat.

But meanwhile, back at the ranch, these kiddos were having a little photo shoot as well.

Speaking of hard to get shots.  Its so hard to get one of both boys smiling.  Never mind a pic of the four of us, although Im partial to this one below...

And to this one above!

And it's never a birthday celebration without someone crying over cake!

So home we came from Maine the next day, and what a great trip it was!

Oysters and Portland

Here we are in Falmouth enjoying some oysters... of all the foods he won't try, this one he really wanted to eat.  Don't worry, we didn't let him eat it.

Later on that day Carl, Chase and I went to Portland to walk around and eat dinner.

Old Port is a really cool part of town with old buildings, the harbor and lots of great restaurants and shops.

This fish market was awesome, and we would have loved to stock up if we could have, but the good news is, they deliver!

Longfellow Square.  Apparently Longfellow lived her/was born here, and Longfellow square is dedicated to him, along with a cool bookstore called Longfellow Books.  We ran up here really quickly to visit and got to see a live concert as well.

This is one of their more famous restaurants, along with Fore Street, where we ate dinner.

Where we ate dinner.  It was amazing.
