The Reason Why I've Been So Distant...

Is seen below.

This is a six week shot of Baby Wise # 2.  Chase, Raughley and I could not be more thrilled!  However, the lovely effects of morning sickness have kept me away from the blogosphere for about 7 weeks now. It is really a not fun time, but as I near the end, I see more and more good days come and go, and I am thinking, this must be it, the end of feeling bad, and the beginning of being back to myself!!!

But, alas, there are still days where I am so tired that I can barely get out of bed, can't open my fridge for gagging, and have to turn the TV on all day so my little guy has something to do.
Those days really stink.

Last pregnancy, the whole blogging about your baby was new to me, so I didn't really partake in documenting my experience, and now I really wish I had.  To be able to go back and look at how I felt during week 11, or what I wanted to eat during week 8, would have been so helpful this go around.  So, I will try my best to do that for this baby.  Starting with the dreaded belly pic.

8 weeks, and already popping.  By this point I could barely function throughout the day, and began taking Zofran, which my new doctor let me use.  Bless her!  I switched practices to get out of the craziness that was Henderson and Walton, to somewhere much more  quiet and laid back.  And I only wait 15 minutes instead of an hour.  It's wonderful.  They give me drugs, let me have ultra sounds almost every visit, and there are WINDOWS in the waiting room.  I love it.
Sooo, when I went back for week 11's visit, and they had a hard time finding the hear beat (normal for this phase- but I did freak out a little bit)  I got to see the little guy or girl squirming around on the screen one more time!

This amazes me.  I can see lips and a nose and a forehead, plus a little belly and feet.  WOW.  Heart Rate was 170, which seems fast to me, which according to the old wive's tales, means girl.  The Chinese calendar also says I'm having a girl, so we shall see.  Of course, I have been craving salty things, which the almighty internet says I'm having a boy, but with Raughley all I wanted was cupcakes, and I had a boy.  This time I really do want pickles.... and hamburgers, and bagels with cream cheese.   Weird.  I don't remember having cravings with R, but Chase said I wanted fruit all the time.

I just feel like it's another boy, but that could be because I am having flashbacks to when I went through this with Raughley.  I will know in 4 weeks though!  My next appt is right at 15 weeks, and the Doc said I should be able to see the sex, if the baby cooperates, so I'll keep you posted.  Meanwhile, I change weeks every Wednesday, so today marks the beginning of the 12th week, and I have completed 11 weeks.  So technically I say Im 11 weeks along, but in my head I get to think 12.  It makes me feel better.  The 2nd trimester starts in 2-3 more weeks, so I hope I will get some relief by then if not before.  Then there are so many things to do!  Like:

Potty Train R,
Get him in a big boy bed,
Make him a big boy room (im thinking safari theme- he loves elephants and monkeys)
Exercise
Change up the nursery a little bit
Get a Double Stroller- yikes!
And enjoy my time with my family of three, before it all changes.

WOW< that is a lot of stuff.  Stay tuned!
And also stay tuned for pics from out trip to the Magic Kingdom!

It's a Cool, Cool Summer

Actually, its so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk.

The only relief is the beach or the pool.

Thank goodness R loves both of those places!

He is so close to swimming... I know he will have it by the end of the summer

The pool at the beach is great because it gradually gets deeper and he can "swim" in about half of it.

It makes him feel so big.

I can't believe this is his third summer with us.  So weird!  He's so big now, walking up to big kids and saying "hi", and then trying to copy everything they do, plus all the talking!  I can't seem to understand all of it, but most of the time it is clear to me or Chase what he is trying to tell us.  So full of ideas already!  What a big boy!

Tidal Wave

Okay, not quite a tidal wave,

but when you're two, every wave can seem as big as a tsumani.

And how much fun is it to get totally messy and wet in the waves?
You have no idea!

Until you face plant.

Uh Oh!

Now he's not a happy camper!

What happens when you combine a salty wet baby with lots and lots of sand?

One BIG mess!
