Yesterday I caught him snoring on camera, and had to share... so funny- almost as loud as his daddy and dog brother!

6 month checkup
Raughley passed his six month check up today with flying colors! He weighs 14lbs 12oz, and is 28 inches long!!! That's 25% in weight, and 70% in height. His head is 17 inches around. Every little part of him, including his brain, is growing!!! He got four shots today though, flu, DTaP, Polio, and HIB, plus the rotovirus liquid medicine. The big news, however, is that he gets to start eating meat! Basically, he can eat whatever we eat (with some exceptions) as long as it is mashed up into mush. I am so excited to see him explore new tastes and textures. He is not happy with me right now, because I am making him take a nap, and he wants to play, but with those two big band-aids on his legs, I feel like he needs the rest... poor guy went through a lot today!

six months, and boca

Well, it has been a while since my last post because the Wise family spent the last 11 days in Boca with Chase's and my parents. It was a glorious trip, full of sun, family, and Raughley. Unfortunately, I was sick for most of it, but if anything it forced me to relax. While we were there, Raughley turned six months old!!! I cannot beleive how much time has gone by. The six months before he was born seemed like an eternity, but these last six months went by way to quickly. R has grown so much. He is now eating 4 bottles and two servings of fruits and veggies a day, is almost sitting by himself, rolls over both ways, and loves to stand supported. He is also flexing his vocal cords with what we call the "rooster". I think I got it on video and will post that for you later. He loves to give "kisses", which are not so much kisses as they are open mouthed licks. His daddy did this when he was a baby and earned the name "Bob Hickey". So we now have bob hickey jr living in our house. This video below shows him crowing and giving kisses. He also recognizes his name, and knows who his mama and daddy are, as well as his grandparents. What a smart boy!!!

Projects
So lately I have been trying out lots of new hobbies or projects that I have always wanted to attempt. Gardening for one, but I have been delving into that since the nesting phase of my pregnancy. I finally finished my rose garden in the back yard, plus planted lantana in the backyard and impatiants by the back fence. In the front yard I planted ten bushed by the road to help out this rocky area that is really pretty, but just needed some details. I will post pictures later when everything has had time to fill in a bit.
Chase gave me an SLR camera for Christmas after we got engaged, and it came with ten free classes at wolfe in homewood. Did I take advantage of them? No, I am ashamed to say. So I bought a book on amazon that comes with a dvd, kind of like slr's for dummies, but with video included. Hopefully after this tutorial I will better understand how to use the manual functions on my camera. Maybe my pictures will look better!!
Speaking of pictures, my OCD is taking over and I am currently trying to scan all pictures not taken on a digital camera into my computer. That means every picture before 2006. If you know me, that means a lot of pictures. What am I thinking? Well, this way if anything ever happens to the hard copies, I will have another digital set. As long as I back up my laptop right? Well, thats next on the list.
My final project (as if these weren't enough) has been sewing. My mom, who is an excellent seamstress) has been helping me make outfits for Raughley, which I will post pictures of when I am done. I am working on two, a red one and a green one, and what makes them so difficult is that I am lining them... UGGG! Its very frustrating, but rewarding now that I am almost finished. I just have to put in the snaps and buttons, and have them applique'd. (a cute patch on the front- mickey mouse on the red one, something fall-ish on the green one) I also finished a pleated skirt, which I am wearing as I type this because I am so proud of it, but I will not post pics of it because it is so bad. So you can just picture me sitting in it, skewed seams and all, typing away as I scan picture after picture into my computer. Only 12 more albums to go!

two quick pics
Raughley with Jenny on game day and with his sweater on his head being silly. He wore a sweater for the first time last night when Chase and I went out to dinner. Fall is really here!
