It's a Cool, Cool Summer

Actually, its so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk.

The only relief is the beach or the pool.

Thank goodness R loves both of those places!

He is so close to swimming... I know he will have it by the end of the summer

The pool at the beach is great because it gradually gets deeper and he can "swim" in about half of it.

It makes him feel so big.

I can't believe this is his third summer with us.  So weird!  He's so big now, walking up to big kids and saying "hi", and then trying to copy everything they do, plus all the talking!  I can't seem to understand all of it, but most of the time it is clear to me or Chase what he is trying to tell us.  So full of ideas already!  What a big boy!

Tidal Wave

Okay, not quite a tidal wave,

but when you're two, every wave can seem as big as a tsumani.

And how much fun is it to get totally messy and wet in the waves?
You have no idea!

Until you face plant.

Uh Oh!

Now he's not a happy camper!

What happens when you combine a salty wet baby with lots and lots of sand?

One BIG mess!

Letter Factory

Raughley is obsessed with this video called Leapfrog Letter Factory, that his friend David gave him for his birthday.  It has really taught him his letters- Im amazed.

Then, his cousins from North Carolina sent him these foam letters, and it has really reinforced what letter factory has taught him.  He now knows O, B, H, K, C, S, A, and D.  AMAZING!!!!!!!  (And I can't take much credit, as I only help reinforce what the video is teaching him.

What a smary pants.

While we're not learning this summer we are taking advantage of the outdoors, particularly in the mornings when it isn't too hot.

We had so much fun with Cole the other day at the park.

What a cutie pie he has become, and so big now!

They are going to be cute little friends aren't they?

Winding up the Weddings

I know it's been a while, and I've a very good explanation... my computer has been messed up.  I couldn't upload pics for the longest time.  Somehow, my husband figures it out in one try.... figures.
Anyway, here are the pics from the wedding we went to in T'town.  Instead of spending the night, a bunch of us rented a limo and rode down together; great idea.

In case it's not obvious, the reception was at Bryant-Denny, and a few of the guys snuck down to the field.

 And into the field house.

We girls stayed in the stands.

The Zone was a really fun place to have a party, and the wedding was a beautiful combination of fun and glamor.

The Drs Nelson, first official outing as a married couple.

Some man love.

Sweet

The bride rocked out all night, and even sang every word to "Baby Got Back" on the microphone.

The ride back was long, as expected, but totally worth getting to sleep in our own bed that night.
This wraps up our weddings for a while, except for Chase's cousins, which I unfortunately could not attend, and I bet you he didn't take pics.  So, if I can gank some off Facebook, Ill post because I'm sure it was beautiful.  Until next time!
