Venice Beach

Venice Beach was our next stop Thursday afternoon.  We loved seeing all the eclectic people on the boardwalk- what a weird place!  Between medical marijuana stores and gypsy fortune tellers, skateboarders and Rastafarian artists, pretty much anyone is accepted in this Oz-like locale.

We took this picture for Chase's Dad.  We know he wants to jump in there with Arnold the govna and work out!

The homeless situation here is really sad.  Homeless people are everywhere, but the attitude of those that live here is that if they were homeless this is where they'd want to be also.  It's clean, warm, and happy.

Skateboarding.  So cool to watch these guys.  And girls.

This lady was just loving life.  (And I think some other substances as well).  She danced barefoot all the way down the boardwalk.

We walked back to SM from Venice.  Quite a hike when you're not in tennis shoes.  But it was fun to see it all.

3rd street promenade.  Full of shops.  Most of which we have in B'ham.

Hispanic Singers... mariachi if you will.  Everyone is festive here!

Santa Monica

Beautiful Santa Monica, California.  Chase and I had the good fortune to spend 4 days there last week in a much needed, much anticipated vacation/ old friend's wedding.  Get ready for lots more pictures as I am very behind in posting, and took a ton while on the other side of the country.  These few were of our first morning there, last Thursday, on a walk we took down the beach.

MIA

I realize I've been MIA the past week, but we've had both boys get a fever virus separately, and Liam got his first tooth!!

So here's a happy pic now that, fingers crossed, we are over the bugs

From the mouths, and gums, of babes.

Day 3 of virus, day 2 of the first tooth coming in.  Morning 2 of little sleep the night before.  And still he does this... smiles.

Sweet guy will sleep again.  In fact, the fever is gone and the tooth has broken through the gums, so maybe that sleep will come tonight.

But for now, Ill just keep drinking coffee and slug on.  These two will keep me going.

Raughley told me yesterday that he had new pants on, and he loved them.  Then, as we crossed the crosswalk to school, a car drove past and he exclaimed in the most excited enthusiastic voice that, "mommy, that car just drove past my pants!"

And he keeps singing this song over and over as loud as he can.  If you know where it comes from or what the words are, please let me know.  I believe it goes like this: (sung in a loud, robotic voice) "ROBOT WAY, I WILL GET YOU!"

Who knows.

In other news, Chase and I are watching Homeland, and it's all I can think about all day- who done it?  Don't tell me if you know, at the rate we're watching, we'll finish by tonight.

more soccer cuteness

These soccer photos turned out so cute that I can almost forgive the pain in the neck experience that we went through on photo day at the soccer field!

Fun Friday

How cute is this?  About two Fridays ago (yes Im way behind) we had a fun filled, non stop day of activities that started with a trip to Target, picking up chick-fil-a, and then included a trip to the playground near Wyatt's house.

These two are going to be friends we hope!

The big boys ran their little hearts out playing on the equipment, and sweet William tried so hard to keep up!

What cute friends these two are turning out to be!

After this we headed to mom's for some cupcake making time.

Little chef got busy and actually only ate about half of a cupcake!

I realized later my settings were off on my camera all day, hence the yellow, over blown effect. Oh well, live and learn!  I guess that's what happens when you're too busy having fun to check on these things!
