The Birthday Party
So thank goodness I planned a very small birthday party for Liam this year, because Frances Ellen's water broke literally hours before the party. But the show got to go on, and we had an early Mexican food and Nemo themed party.
He loved opening presents, which was a change from Christmas 2 weeks previously. It's like the concept of unwrapping kicked in during the break between Christmas and his birthday. Look at his face as he opens his Minnie car. The kid Loves Minnie Mouse.
All clothes given to Liam were immediately taken by Raughley. Seriously, he wore this shirt the next week.
Uncle Pat Pat got a hold of the camera.
And this sweet moment happened, where Raughley signed a card for his little brother. Love how that handwriting is coming along!
When it came time for cake, it was no holes barred. And the boys ate cake for dinner, without touching the actual dinner food. Oh well, you only turn 2 once.

A Special 2 Year Old Day
Here are a few pics from Liam's Birthday. On the 11th, his actual birthday, we celebrated just the four of us, with some cake, opening of a few gifts and spending time together. I think Raughley was more excited than Liam as he kept saying, "It's a big day Liam, you need your rest."
We gave Liam a "Nemo" fish (a beta, to be exact, but I did find one in orange, so it looks like Nemo). In my ignorance, I thought I could buy a little clown fish, but it turns out they need 2 gallons, a filtered tank, and 20 days to acclimate. Not what I had in mind. So the 4.00 fish sufficed, and Liam was thrilled. He kept saying,
"WOW, NEMO!"
Then he opened his other gift from us, a plane riding toy. Raughley really wanted this one for himself, and a few tears were shed over the fact that he couldn't ride it whenever he wanted to.
At this point I was all ready for his party the next day, having had fun making "Sea like" arrangements and having R help me decorate with streamers and chinese lanterns that we designed to look like fish.
We only had family to this party, and I have to say it was so low key and stress free that I'm tempted to do it again for baby 3. Not that we don't love our friends and extended fan, but it was nice to have only 10 people in the house instead of 40. I felt like I could really enjoy Liam's experience more, and spend time with those that were there instead of feeling spread thin. I'll have pics of the party in a day or so.

Lovable Liam
Our adorable, messy, bottomless pit is two years old today!
He's a mess if there ever was one, both literally and figuratively.
This snuggly sweet thing will say "I love you mommy" (sounds like I yay a mommy)
Can't go anywhere without "huh-wee" (lovey)
yet has the sassiest, silliest personality to go along with his sweet demeanor.
For example, today was filled with three temper tantrums, followed by "I sawwey mommy" (I'm sorry mommy) Then off he runs to play beep beeps, only to be seen 20 minutes later when he's hungry again for the 4th time since breakfast. (And it's only 12:00).
The tantrums will pass as he leaves the terrible two stage, and hopefully the silly funny personality will remain, keeping us laughing. We love you little buddy, as Raughley calls him, and hope you had a wonderful birthday!
