Great Pics

What a perfect combination of the right time of day, good lighting, good backdrop, and great people!

Palm Valley Fish Camp

Since I've gone through the gist of the trip for you, I think I'll just let the pictures from my nice camera speak for themselves.

These were taken at the Palm Valley Fish Camp the first night we were all together.

Ponte Vedra

I decided to try and photograph this trip via instagram so that I would take some more of the everyday moments that you normally wouldn't pull the big camera out for.  I was really happy with the results, and here is the trip in a polaroid-esque style, from beginning to end.

We started the 8 hour trip on a Wednesday night, and made it to Valdosta, GA before calling it quits at the local hotel.  (after we were shot down in Tifton and had to drive another hour to Valdosta- the Garden Inn was full and we couldn't manage to make ourselves check into the Knights Inn for 29.99 a night- no offense if that is your stay of choice)

So the next morning we were off, and five hours of sleep, an eat and run* in the lobby, and two hours of driving later, we were in Ponte Vedra!)
*accidental- the lady did tell us that small items were free, we only later put it together that we had dined and dashed.

Once at the Marriot, we hit the outdoor dining for a burger and fries, and were joined by this fella.

Someone was such a good traveler

It rained, much to our chagrin, so we hung out in the room and ate cookies and pretzels.

Luckily, that was the only time it rained, so we'll take it.

DInner that night was at the Palm Valley Fish Camp. I was obsessed.  The food was outstanding.  And it was so fun to all be together again.

Mom had an impromptu birthday cake after dinner for Patrick, FE and me.  So fun!

Getting ready for bed, at 10pm.  These guys stayed up late every night!  (I guess that's why they took 4 hour naps every day)

Next day we hit the beach.  I love comparing beaches, and the atlantic is fun.  Higher waves, not quite sandy white like the panhandle or full of shells like Boca, but the guys found a bunch of sharks teeth.

Beautiful day.  We paddle boarded, ate lunch, swam in the pool and the ocean.

Nap time was interesting in a hotel.  Once both boys were asleep, I was in the dark, literally.  Luckily for the iPad I got to catch up on some much needed reading time, but since they napped so long I found myself trying to stay busy with in the dark exercises, and hanging out in the bathroom.  Why didn't I just nap too you ask? Don't know- napping is hard for me.

Getting ready to run around town while the guys played golf Saturday am.

TPC Clubhouse

Another birthday treat, this time from Patrick.

Dinner Friday night at the TPC Clubhouse.

I believe this is when Dad was about to sing Karaoke in the hotel bar.

Saturday morning, we headed to the Ponte Vedra Inn to walk around and do some shopping.

The Inn had some cool things for Ra Ra to look at, like this old ship,

Checkers,

And most importantly, lollipops.

And nothing like a joy ride with your little brother.

After the Inn, we went back to the golf course where we got a tour from an old movie star named Hal.  He was in Dallas, From the Earth to the Moon, and he was fascinating.

Once golf was over, it was Raughley's turn for golf, mini golf that is.

He called it the little golf course and talked about playing it every hour after that.

I believe Chase said it was harder than the real course.

Our last night we went to LuLu's for dinner.  Next door to Palm Valley, it was the "Red Basket" kind of dinner, as William put it.  It was perfect.

Our last morning, before we left, we s[ent some tome at the hotel playground.

and fed the turtles!

Then we had one final meal at the clubhouse (I think that made 4?) and headed home, exhausted from a great trip with the fam.

But not before someone spent some time staring at the golf paintings all over the clubhouse.  He was mesmerized!
