"Hullo, my name new boat."
"Hullo new boat, I ra ra"
"new boat, my name Mama Boat and Gaga Boat"
The funny chatter has begun. Oh the imagination of little people. Stay tuned for more.
So on our last day in Franklin, Jennie and CT drove me by Carnton Plantation, the site of the novel Widow of the South, and I got to tour the Confederate graveyard for a few minutes before we met everyone for brunch.
In the novel, which is based on real events, the Widow of the South has thousands of soldiers reburied on her property when their mass graves are threatened by a neighboring planter. She then spends the rest of her life tending the graves and keeping a registry of whose buried where.
I was really touched by the story, and really wanted to see the site for myself. We couldn't tour the house, which was okay because Im not really into home tours, but supposedly there are still blood stains on the floors where the house was used as a hospital.
After this we ate brunch at this great place, which of course the name of has escaped me, and then hit the road.
There is the plantation in the distance.
Meanwhile, back in the 'Ham...
this pumpkin got to go to the Humane Society Halloween party!
He's taken a liking to saying "cheese".
He kept telling me when he got home that he saw a bunny, and it took me forever to figure out that the bunny was May May!
