Charleston

All of these posts are going to be out of order since I am so behind on blogging, and as 2 weeks have gone by since this trip (maybe 3 Im not sure) I will not have a great memory as to what we did each day of the trip.  In spite of this, I do know we had a great great time, and that the trip took on a general theme.... FOOD!

Charleston is so beautiful, albeit HOT. I mean sweltering.  But that didn't stop us from getting out and about.

Raughley loved the never ending supply of boats,

And horses.

The highlight of his trip (besides playing in Carl's new apartment) was seeing the animals and going on the carriage ride.

Check out Bill.  He is 2000 pounds!!!

All this pregnancy weight gain might make me feel 2000 pounds, but its nothing compared to this sucker.  He was a big boy.

I personally loved all the architecture of the city.

Check out this fire station... real dog?  I'll let you decide.

And the greenery, the trees, flowers, spanish moss, huge oaks... it was breathtaking.
This kind of view was pretty much everywhere.

Fortunately rain kept us slightly cool as we waited in line for Justine's- a local tradition. Apparently if you don't wait in line you can't appreciate how good the food was.  And it was.
More on the food later.

It's a ...

Most of you already know by now, as we found out at 15 weeks, and it is now 18 weeks, but Its A BOY!!!!

Baby boy number two will be here in 22 weeks, (more or less).

We decided to celebrate with dinner and a surprise cake (which you saw above, it's supposed to be a baby carriage if you can't tell.)  We started by passing out the ultra sound pictures face down, and one of them showed the sex.  Whoever turned over that card got to know first and to cut the cake.

That lucky person was Uncle Pat Pat!

Everyone was excited for the big moment...

Tada! Blue Food Coloring!  (Im a culinary wiz, what can I say)

So here I am at about 16 weeks, pardon the messy counter.  And below you will see the latest picture of Baby Two!

My Birthday

Emily and Howard had a birthday dinner for me at their house on the 4th.  It was so nice to be treated to dinner and relax with family.  I can't believe I am 28!

Chase got me a cake from Delicious Bakery, our favorite bakery that he found in Alabaster.

Mr busy with his Aunt.

Can't even sit still for a picture!

What a fun night.

And the next day Carl graduated from Georgia with his Doctorate, and starts teaching at College of Charleston this semester!  Congrats!

I'm Baaaaaack....

Finally feeling good!  Here is what we have been up to this summer.  Poolside a lot,

working so hard on the big boy bed... not really happening though.  He would rather be in the big BIG bed.  (ours)

Finally didn't scream through a haircut... see how I had to resort to bribery.

using tools with Poppy,

working hard!

The Pooh Movie!  (So cute!)

Couldn't stop with the popcorn... he ate (or I ate) most of the large.

This face is something we have seen a LOT of this summer.  It's Karma, I know, because I was a HUGE pouter when I was a child.

And of course, Mickey, Mickey, Mickey.

What a guy!

Baby and Raughley Update

I've been lazy uploading pictures, so I've just got a post for you today.  Tomorrow I will be 16 weeks along with baby #2, and I've been asked a lot, is this pregnancy harder than the last?  At first I said "no", but lately I've been saying yes, yes, yes!  I've realized, it's just different.  I still think my house smells bad, am nauseous, tired, have a stuffy nose, am dizzy, and emotional, but each is in a different extreme.  For example, I almost passed out in my den with R twice on the way to work, and have not come near passing out with Baby 2.  This sickness seems to be lasting longer, but as I say that, I woke up today and my fridge didn't make me gag, the thought of blogging didn't turn my stomach, and I was able to think about being productive... could today be the day?

Speaking of turning my stomach, nature must do some crazy things while you are pregnant, because on both occasions this has happened to me.  The things I usually love become REVOLTING to me.  Using my camera, working in the back yard, blogging, organizing (I know) all became things that make me nauseous just upon the thought of them, so when I thought about going in the back yard this morning and didn't gag, I took that as a great sign.  Reading, thank goodness, has not turned me off and I have been reading up a storm.  I'm halfway thought book 5 of HP and loving the distraction.  With Raughley I couldn't read.  I take that back, I couldn't read anything but Twilight.  Strange.  Thank goodness that has changed this time around.  I don't think I could take anymore Edward and Bella with this pregnancy.

Meanwhile, my two year old is in the midst of the terrible twos, while remaining the sweetest, funniest most loving little guy I've ever seen...how is this possible?  He's screaming up a storm one minute, then making me laugh by giving me "pish kith" (fish kisses) the next.  He's so tall.  I can't get over it.  He loves to play golf in the den, and wants to be "oh-sigh" (outside) as much as possible.  He is speaking in sentences and it's freaky how smart he is.  He COUNTED TO TEN the other day.  I am not lying.  Of course I can't seem to get him to do it again without getting stuck on chanting six over and over again, but who cares.  And probably all 2 year olds can count to ten and I just think my child is a genius like every other mom.

So Ill see if this string of good health keeps up and if so, Ill start posting the pics from Charleston, and others from my iPhone I have of R at the Pooh movie, the pool, etc.  Keep your fingers crossed that the nausea stays away!!

Finally, 4th of July

First of all, someone is working on moving into a big boy bed!!!

We're taking it slow, as he wont stay in the bed for more than 5 minutes unless he's already asleep, and it's so funny to hear his little feet running down the hall once he's figured out he can escape!

And our 4th pics... not that I took that many, but here they are anyway!

Pman's 21st Bday

Im still too tired to edit these pics, and they are almost a month old!  Sorry for the delay Uncle Pat Pat, we hope you had a wonderful 21st birthday party and week in Las Vegas with the boys!

Look at this fab cake Frances Ellen and William made!

Just some hair gel for the trip... and oh yes, they used it.
