Back to School!

Someone was ready for school today.  New backpack, new lunchbox, great attitude!

I really expected crying, but when I said, "ready to go to school?" he replied, "oh yaish mama!"   (phonetically describing how he says yes- its so cute)

He really wanted to take this golf club, and I thought that would cause a melt down, but once we arrived in the school parking lot, he forgot all about it in the trunk of the car.

We walked right up to school, him so proud of his pack and new shoes, and entered the building... still waiting on the crying to begin.

But no, he was so brave, and even posed to have his picture taken by his class door.  Although to get a two year old to look at the camera is nearly impossible.

This was the best I could get.  He then walked right in, ran to the play kitchen and proceeded to forget all about me.  I think I was more upset than he was.  No tears though.  on my part that is.

He is ready for two year old pre school though.  We've been working on letters all summer.  Here is proof!  Love his interpretation of the end of the song too!

20 weeks

Halfway there.  This pregnancy is certainly tougher than the last, but its going by more quickly.  And I got to have another ultra sound this week!  Look at that cute nose, he already looks like Raughley.  I feel him kick a lot lately, and I cant wait for Chase to be able to feel.  I actually got out my old maternity clothes yesterday, which I didn't want to do until the last minute, but nothing is comfortable any more, and once I put those jeans on I realized what i was missing.  Maternity clothes are made for a reason- they are more comfortable to the wearer.  I'm glad I did it now.  My appetite has definitely picked up, after a bought with a stomach bug and a weight loss of 5 pounds, I gained 4 back in two weeks.  Yikes!  But that's alright.  I've gained 14 so far, so if I only gain 14 to 20 in the next 20 weeks I'll be right on track- much better than my gain with R- which was phenomenal.
In Raughley news, we had the toughest week with him last week- tantrums, screaming, throwing himself on the ground and pouting, etc.  Well after a visit to the dentist yesterday, we are more informed that a two year old molar has just now poked through the skin.  Dr. Johnson even asked, "has he been overly fussy lately?"  and since yes, he has, I feel bad for the boot camp he had to go through last week.  Poor guy lost his paci, was disciplined for terrible two behavior, and broke through a molar.  Well, this week will be much better I'm sure. (fingers crossed) We definitely did the right thing with the paci, Dr. J said, as his upper jaw had already moved forward a lot, and will take about 6 months to move back where it's supposed to be.  Right now he is being his happy self, dancing in the den to Mickey Mouse.  Yes dancing.  He actually pulled me in with him yesterday and wanted me to dance with him.  Both of us were laughing the whole time.

Laura and Russell had a photo booth at their wedding reception.  I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

This last one should be censored.  Geez Dad!

Laura's Wedding Part 1

Laura got married this weekend!  What a fun, laidback wedding it was too.

The bridesmaids got to pick their dress, in any solid color.  There were FOUR pregnant bridesmaids... it was almost comical.

It was so much fun to see our friends from out of town who came in to celebrate.  It makes me realize how much I miss them.

Laura looked beautiful and oh so happy.

And her dad gave the sweetest speech at the rehearsal dinner- made me tear up.

At the reception at B and A, we danced to 90's and 80's music, ate good food, and had a blast in the photo booth (more on that later)

Kara especially.

More later.

19 weeks

I am 19 weeks along today.

With Raughley, at 19 weeks we were celebrating Thanksgiving, and I was already pretty uncomfortable, having gained a bunch of weight by that point.

With this baby, seeing as I have been sicker, I haven't gained nearly as much weight (only 12 pounds) and am still able to sleep on my stomach!

I still have moments each day where the nausea kicks in, and I'm hoping that will go away with the heat of summer.  It is not fun, let me tell you.

But someone seems to be catching on to "Ra Ra baby, mama tummy"  as he calls him.  I think he is getting the idea that there will be another little "bash brother" around soon.

So while the next 20 or so weeks will seem long in some ways, with the start of a fall routine I think time will fly.

School starts next Wednesday, and we go to meet his new teacher today!  That and story time, Bible study and football season will keep us busy and scheduled.  We do so much better around here on a schedule.

Baby two is looking to be as active as Raughley, and is already kicking away at night as I settle down for bed.

I have the anatomy scan Friday morning, so we're looking forward to the confirmation that he is indeed, a boy, as well as checking out all the other organs to make sure they are functioning appropriately.

For now, I am working on the big boy room, and am learning to smock!

While this guy continues to amaze me with his language skills and curiosity for the world around him.  And we think he might be a lefty!
