Well, we've been to the beach and back in a flash, both directions of travel dictated by one emergency or another. The week started with bad weather, moving our leave day by 24 hours. Enter frantic packing and rushing to the airport. Once we arrived though, it was heaven on earth, with friends and family alike, pictures to come!
Then, on Saturday, havoc wreaked. Raughley had an infected spot on his tummy. One trip to the clinic followed by the ER after, and he had been pricked, prodded, lanced, bleeded, you name it. This made for one upset Grandmama, one very upset mama, and one inconsolable Baby. Not a good day. 48 hours later the follow up appointment revealed more infection, and a speedy trip back to the Ham to visit Children's. What a fantastic place. We are so lucky to have this facility. Everyone in Florida was helpful and wonderful, but you just can't beat Birmingham health care, especially when it is specialized for children. I am happy to report we have a recovering, happier child and much calmer relieved parents.
So while I hate we cut our beach trip short, I am grateful for comforting friends, supportive parents and siblings, wonderful healthcare, and a healthy happy child. Thank you God for your gifts. We are truly blessed.
Plus, the beach will be there when we get back!
