Catching up in May

Someone had his last day of school for the year...  check out that hot outfit!

He will miss his teachers and friends until next year, when he starts 2 year old preschool!

okay this face cracks me up.

Then we got to go to Caroline's one year old birthday party!

Raughley had an awesome time eating all the chocolate he could get his hands on.

And playing with his faves- balloons!

Caroline lived up to the one year old dream of smashing cake everywhere, and I mean it was every where.  Her iris's even had icing on them I think.

She sure has a lot of people who love her.  Happy Birthday Baby C!
And now it's time to get ready for the funnest time of the year...SUMMER!

HELP!

Will someone please comment below and tell me how I can get pics side my side or 3 in a row in my blog?  Ive tried googling and its so complicated, there has to be an easier way!!!

See below for TED x Red Mtn Post!

TEDx Red Mountain

My brother was recently asked to speak at the first ever TEDx Red Mountain Convention.

It was held in the Avon Theatre in Lakeview, which is a old beautiful theater that I believe is now a church.

The building was really cool, with exposed steel beams and brick, along with old painted panels that are still beautiful even as they deteriorate.

The goal of the evening was to share ideas, so we were asked to mingle and discuss our passions with the crowd.

Which included, a state senator, my old high school principal  (MB grads, see if you can spot him in one of the pics), news anchors, leaders of different non profit and for profit organizations around the state, and my brother.

Pretty Cool!

Below you will see the picture that I will have framed next to the one of Chase, Raughley and Coach Saban, as this one means almost as much to me as that one does to them.

TADA!!!!!  I was very star struck to meet him, as I consider him basically a hero.
Next, the speaking began.  MC'd by Alan Hunter, we heard from James, the head of ALabama's FEMA, the DOH, The head of Alabama Poverty, and so on and so forth.

After the speakers were finished, the lady in charge came back on stage and presented Patrick with a painting, made by the participants of the evening.  Everyone had a chance through out the evening to "Make Your Mark" on the painting.

Parts of the artwork were stripped away to reveal a sunburst.

And I forgot to mention that P received the only standing ovation.  Wow.

I was so thankful to get to attend, and it sounds like this is just the first of many Tedx Red Mountain events to occur, and I recommend going to one if you can.  Very Cool.

Two

Our two year old is sucking up knowledge like a sponge.
New words, new actions, new likes and dislikes.  It's amazing to see him grow and learn.

Words:
Ray- (red)
Ewah- (yellow)
Boo- (blue)
Gee- (green)
Why- (white)
Baa- (black)

Sheesell- (seashell)
cuhcull- (circle)
EH- (A)
Bee- (B)
See- (C)

His favorite animals:
Elephants
Monkeys
Lions
Sheep,
Pigs,
Cows,
Roosters- (cah- oo-oo!)
Dogs, cats, fish, birds

He is actually speaking sentences:
"Hi key key, I Rah Rah!"
(he introduces himself to mickey when he comes on tv)
"I go poo"
"I see ___" (whatever he see's)

He is in love with the zoo.  If I ask him what he would like to do today, he will raise his hand and trumpet like an elephant.

Then he will rub his hands under his armpits and squeal like a monkey.

Followed by a lion's growl.

He still loves music and dancing, marching and running, and is really into playing with rocks and sticks in the back yard.

He knows many body parts, including facial features, shoulders, hair, belly button, toes, and knees.

He loves golf carts, and golf balls, and golf clubs.

And basketballs, baseballs, and footballs.

trains, trucks, cars, and they all say "beep beep!!!"

He is little boy through and through.

Although occasionally he will put on my shoes and walk around, or try on my earrings and hair clips.

But he also puts on Chase's boots and stomps all over the house.

So on this day at the zoo, we got to combine many of his little boy loves.

Animals

Rocks and dirt,

body parts,

Rides (although this one didn't go over so well)

running, marching, skipping,

And talking up a storm!

Curiosity killed the cat, so they say, but not this little guy.

His little spirit is full, and ready for more!
