Story time!

We have officially graduated to Tuesday's story time at the library, and it is so much fun! We get to go with Liz, David and Evie, and then the 7 of us go eat at Otey's afterwards. That's right, the babies outnumber the grownups- it's a trip. Anyway, I am loving my new Tuesday routine- it's a much needed time in my week with adults and babies alike.

This video shows R getting his groove on to the Bunny Hop- Maybe he's got a little Hugh Hefner inside of him (on second thought let's hope not)

Exhaustion

Well, the wedding weekend was a success.  The bride looked beautiful walking down the aisle, the MOB and FOB did a fantastic job planning and executing this enormous event.  The Jordan's were wonderful, truly a loving, fun family.  Linds and Jon Mark both are so lucky to have each other and such wonderful families to be a part of.
I wish I could say I took so many pictures, but I didn't take ONE!!!  Once I saw photographers at each event, I said- Im just going to enjoy myself and soak it all in.  So if you want a shot of Linds on her big day, check out Abby's Blog.  She took some great shots of B's house and of Linds in her dress.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, (almost literally, they were at the farm) Bryant got stuck in some barbed wire and had to be rushed to the er for dogs.  Luckily he suffered only a minor cut, though deep, and has a few stitches.  Since he loves to lick the wound, he has to wear this lovely Elizabethan collar (love the name of this btw).  What a sad face is this!

So between dancing my booty off Saturday in 4 inch heels (borrowed from Emily- the lady has style) and fighting off a virus, I find myself this morning- exhausted.  I love weddings and parties and seeing family, but there is also something to be said about routine- I crave it sometimes.  So back to the hamster wheel we go!

Kick this weekend off!

With a bang!  We sure did last night, and I took too many pictures to post, so I just made a youtube video slideshow of the night and plan to post it here, if I can get it to work... my last youtube attempt was a big failure, so we'll see.  Tonight is rehearsal dinner time- which means...speech!!!  yikes!  Wish me luck!

PS- Also, thanks to Cristin for sighting Raughley in her blog as cutest baby ever- you're the best doll!

Father of the Bride Lunch!

The festivities for Lindsay's wedding weekend have officially started.  Yesterday R and I drove to Pell City to eat lunch with dad and his brothers, Aunt Libbie, and the bride at Golden Rule BBQ...yummy.
"Aunt Lindsay I see you looking at me"

Pouty face- the newest of the Raughley facial expressions

Dad and his big bro- my Uncle John- or "Jahney" as dad calls him.

FOB and the BRIDE!!!!!

Mom's Birthday

Here are a few pics from mom's birthday, lunch and dinner. B treated Tricia, mom, me, William and Raughley to lunch at 26- yum! And then dad took the whole fam to dinner at Birmingham Country Club- what a day!

Bring on Spring!

Finally this weekend we get a little taste of Spring, and then what do you know- more cold weather. We took total advantage of the nice warm outdoors this weekend and enjoyed the budding tulip trees! Check out what I did to my front door! Chase made me this wreath out of a vine from the farm, and I stuck tulip flowers in it for decoration! How Martha Stewart of me you say? Well they wilt after 24 hours and I still have them hanging outside on my door. My green thumb is getting better however, as I have managed not to kill my orchid after a month of ownership- yay! The strawberry plants I planted though were eaten by none other than you know who- Bryant. Well, he just thought they might taste good even though they hadn't grown yet. Ill try again with that one some other time. The high today is supposed to be 68- we'll see. I'm suspicious of mother nature at this point.

11 months!

I dropped the ball and didn't post 11 month old pics, so here they are:

Raughley has taken a few first steps, the first being on March 6th when we were out of town in Jackson, so Chase saw those, but then the next have happened over the past two weeks, very slowly, as he is still a little unsure of himself. It's so cute to see him toddle towards you though and then plop on his bottom!

He loves to dance to music, as seen in the video below.

He is eating a TON- and when he doesn't sleep through the night, we have to let him cry it out for almost a half hour- brutal, but necessary- remember that for baby #2 one day.

I can't believe we have only 3 weeks left until he is 1 year old!!! This time has flown by faster than I could have imagined!!

The Boy's Got Moves

He's taking after his mother and getting his groove on to music- little dancin machine!

Crummies!

I forgot to post these pics a while back, where Raughley and Wyatt are thoroughly enjoying a magic muffin at the park- could they make a bigger mess?  We laugh because they are such boys- we can't imagine a little girl eating like this at the park.  But I love it- he's all boy for sure!

Good thing he's learned how to brush his teeth- all two of them!  It's actually one of his favorite things to do, we have to pry the toothbrush away from him when he's done.

What else have we been up to you ask?
Oh just the usual, riding in shopping carts

Hanging out with Uncle William

Playing on four wheelers

And having a good old time on the beach with mom!

And these were too precious- I had to share...

Animals, Animals

First of all, no idea why the counter to the left says, "meet local singles".  It's not an ad, and if you click on it, it takes you to the counter website, not a dating website- it's weird.
Secondly, the last trip to boca brought me a great photo op of the eagles- they have 2 babies this time, which supposedly is a rarity in the eagle world.

The babies are darker, by the way.

More animals- the coon dog getting a bath- boy was he stinky!
running away!
Morgan- one of Carl's dogs- such a nut!
Willy- Raughley's best babysitter and loyal companion.

Love is in the air

Raughley is smitten with our friend's Emily and Aaron's baby girl, Ella.  Em and Aaron are our friends from Boca, and Ella was born sometime in November. I'll never forget being hugely 9 months pregnant and having Em call me to say she was pregnant too!  So exciting.  We went down to Boca for a quick trip last weekend, and got to eat breakfast with the Diaz' before we left.  R was so taken with their little one that he tried to slip a move on her while we ate, he tried to hold her hand, take her paci and even put his hand on her leg!!!!  My goodness he's a lady's man already!

Uh oh, no hats allowed at the table mister!

Now who is that beautiful lady sitting next to me?

I'm going to check her out (touch her thigh- sneaky thing)  and no one will notice!

Shes got a nice white hat one, and a great paci- I want that!

Yay for me!!!  I've got a girlfriend!!!

Happy Birthday Chase!!!

Today is the anniversary of the birth of my wonderful husband.... he is now 26- the same age as me!!!  (for another 5 months)  We have much to celebrate- Chase is a wonderful father, husband, son, brother, and friend.  We love you very much- Happy birthday from your biggest fans!!!
- Rebecca, Raughley and Bryant.

A pic of Chase as a little boy- he's the one peeking during the blessing with a big grin on his face!

More recent pics of Chase.  We love you!

Sew Happy!

Well, I started sewing for Raughley this fall, and finished two outfits that were pretty frustrating for me to work on, but like anything, sewing gets easier the more you practice.  So here we are, three more outfits for my little man!  I love the applique's!  (Which I did not do myself, just so you know- but I did fine adorable matching buttons to go with each design.)

See below for another post about our trip to Jackson this weekend!

Jackson

Road Trip!
The fam headed to Jackson, MS for Lindsay and Jon Mark's engagement party last Saturday night.  The best part of my fam couldn't go though, because little man was still sick, so poor Chase had to stay at home and play doctor.  He is the greatest, letting me go to this party while he stayed behind.
The five of us piled into the starship and headed down to Jackson...

The party was at Jon Mark's grandparent's house in Madison.
It was gorgeous, and packed!  I wish I could have gotten more picks of Jon Mark's family, but was too shy to just walk up to them and take pics.
The Bride and Groom! 3 weeks to go!
The 5 of us

Mom and Dad

A few of L's bridesmaids, with Jon Mark's cute grandfather, he had a great time I think!
MOH's!
A few candid's from the party:

It was so great to spend time with our two families.  They have a lot in common, being large families, but Jon Mark's takes the cake, their fam is about twice as large as ours, and so welcoming!  We had a great time, thanks to the Pierce's and the Jordan's for having us!!!
