We finally got to take R to the SC Aquarium on Saturday afternoon. (We were rockstars this day, BTW- we did the carriage ride, lunch, egg dying, aquarium, dinner and beach all in one day).
This is a small aquarium but boy was it cool.
There were views of the harbor, birds, crocodiles, fish, sharks, and what looked like it used to be or will have whales. (The exhibit was temporarily closed). R would LOVE to see a whale, so we will have to go back when they are there.
We looked out on the water at the Air Craft Carrier, watched a cruise ship sale by and saw some sailboats.
Or Pirate Ships as R thought they were.
He loved finding all the Nemo fish in the tank.
We saw Nemo, Dory, and "Dude" (The turtle)
And this guy was awesome. He was about 3 feet from you in a cage. He was an injured bird in rehab, don't worry, not a caged animal who needs to be free.
These were the sea otters! R was captivated by them. He squealed with delight every time they swam by.

And then we found it. Raughley's Kriptonite. (or ours I should say). The boat. That he can drive. He never wanted to leave.
We literally had to drag him screaming from the building from this thing, and now when you ask him what his favorite thing he did in Charleston was, he says matter of factly, "The white boat"
Not these awesome birds, or the beach, the horses, the eggs, the WILD crocodiles we saw at the Magnolia Plantation, but the wooden pretend boat at the aquarium. But to him it was Real, and he was driving it out on the open sea. It doesn't get much cooler than that.
So the aquarium was a big hit, but we couldn't leave without spending some good quality time by the huge tank filled with sharks, tarpon, and all other species that Chase knew by name.
R will be learning these fish types from an expert.
